Fixed-Term Price Policy
1. Purpose
1.1 This Policy explains Talk4’s fixed-term pricing promise and is incorporated into 12-month and 24-month Talk4 contracts where referenced.
1.2 It is intended to make pricing transparent and to prevent any inconsistency between marketing, product pages, checkout, Contract Information, Contract Summaries, invoices and customer communications.
2. The fixed-term price commitment
2.1 During a 12-month or 24-month Minimum Term, Talk4 will not increase the core monthly subscription price by applying an annual price rise.
2.2 In particular, Talk4 will not apply:
- a CPI-linked increase;
- an RPI-linked increase;
- another inflation-linked increase;
- a percentage-based annual increase;
- a fixed pounds-and-pence annual uplift; or
- an automatic April/other annual tariff increase to the core monthly subscription price.
2.3 The core monthly subscription price shown at contract formation remains the Talk4 core subscription price throughout the Minimum Term, subject only to the situations in this Policy that are not an annual price increase.
3. What is the core monthly subscription price?
3.1 It is the recurring base charge for the contracted tariff/service before optional extras and usage outside the inclusive service.
3.2 It does not include separately priced add-ons, out-of-allowance usage, international/roaming usage, premium/special-rate services, excess construction/engineering charges, equipment bought separately, or one-off fees.
4. What is not an annual price increase?
4.1 The following may change the total amount payable without being an annual Talk4 price increase:
- you ask to move to a different tariff, speed, allowance or service;
- you add, remove or change an optional add-on;
- you incur usage outside inclusive allowances;
- you use chargeable roaming, international or premium services;
- a separately agreed one-off installation, engineering or equipment charge becomes payable;
- a statutory tax, VAT or government/regulatory charge changes and the law permits or requires that change to affect the amount charged.
4.2 Talk4 will not use these exceptions as a mechanism to disguise an annual increase to the fixed core subscription price.
5. Promotions and discounts
5.1 If the customer is given a time-limited promotional credit or discount, its duration and the price payable after it ends must be clearly disclosed before contract formation and in the Contract Information/Contract Summary where required.
5.2 A disclosed expiry of a separate promotional credit is not described as an “annual price increase”. However, marketing must not misleadingly state that the customer’s total monthly payment is fixed for the whole term if a known promotional discount ends during the Minimum Term.
6. Plan changes and renewals
6.1 If the customer voluntarily changes/renews the product, the new price agreed for the replacement/new contract applies. A new minimum term will only start where clearly agreed.
6.2 At or after the end of the Minimum Term, Talk4 may offer a new price or plan. Any change to an existing continuing contract must comply with applicable notice and termination rights.
7. 30-day rolling products
7.1 This Policy’s 12/24-month price freeze does not automatically apply to 30-day rolling products. Talk4 may change a rolling product’s price only in accordance with the applicable terms and regulatory notice/exit requirements.
8. Contract changes and regulatory rights
8.1 Talk4 will not rely on a general contract-variation clause to apply a scheduled annual price rise to a 12/24-month fixed-term contract.
8.2 If Talk4 proposes another contractual change that gives the customer a right to terminate without charge under Ofcom rules, Talk4 will give the required notice and explain that right.
9. How the promise must be shown to customers
9.1 For 12/24-month products, product pages, checkout and Contract Summary should state clearly: “No annual price increases during your Minimum Term.”
9.2 The Contract Summary should show “Scheduled annual price increase: None” and the agreed monthly subscription price.
9.3 Catalogue or billing-system changes must not retrospectively change the contracted monthly subscription price stored against an existing fixed-term order.
10. Questions and complaints
