Roaming & International Terms
1. About these Product Terms
1.1 These Product Terms apply to roaming usage on Talk4 mobile services outside the UK and international calls/messages made from the UK supplied by Talk4 Communications Ltd trading as Talk4 Telecoms (“Talk4”, “we”, “us” or “our”) to an individual acting wholly or mainly outside their trade, business, craft or profession (“you” or “your”).
1.2 Our company number is 06827172. Our registered office is 38 Rothesay Road, Luton, England, LU1 1QZ. Customer support: 03333 445 456; support@talk-4.co.uk; www.talk4.co.uk.
1.3 Talk4 is a reseller/service provider and may use wholesale carriers, mobile network operators, access network operators, infrastructure providers and contractors to deliver the Service. Unless your Contract Information expressly says otherwise, your contract is with Talk4.
1.4 If there is any conflict, mandatory law and Ofcom rules take priority, followed by your Contract Summary and Contract Information, your Order/price plan, these Product Terms, the Consumer General Terms and then other incorporated policies, unless a document expressly states a different lawful order of precedence.
2. Before you enter the Contract
2.1 Before you are bound, we will provide the written Contract Information and Contract Summary required by applicable Ofcom rules. They identify the main characteristics of your Service, price, minimum term, any usage limits, speed/quality information where relevant, termination arrangements and other key terms.
2.2 You must be at least 18 and authorised to order the Service and use the relevant service address, device or account.
2.3 Product availability is subject to technical/network availability and any eligibility requirements shown at the point of sale.
3. Plan-specific charges and allowances
3.1 Roaming/international entitlements vary by underlying network and tariff. Before purchase and, where applicable, before/when you roam, we will make available the countries/zones, included usage, fair-use/data cap and relevant out-of-allowance charges for your plan.
3.2 The price of your core 12/24-month subscription remains fixed during the Minimum Term. Roaming/international usage that is outside the included core allowance may be charged at the rates applicable to that usage and disclosed in the price guide/notifications.
4. Difference between roaming and international calling
4.1 “Roaming” means using your Talk4 service while connected to a network outside the UK. “International calling” means calling an overseas number while you are in the UK. Different allowances and rates can apply.
5. Roaming zones/destinations
5.1 A zone name is only shorthand for the countries/territories expressly listed for the relevant plan or roaming product. Destination lists can differ between EE-, O2-, Vodafone- and Three-powered Talk4 plans.
6. EU/Global roaming descriptions
6.1 “EU roaming”, “Roam Like Home” or similar wording means only the destinations and allowance expressly stated for your tariff. “Global roaming” is not a promise of free or inclusive use in every country unless the Contract Information explicitly says so.
7. Roaming fair-use/data caps
7.1 A domestic unlimited-data plan does not automatically include unlimited roaming. Any numeric roaming fair-use/data cap, speed limit, duration/residency rule or other objective restriction must be disclosed for the applicable plan before purchase/use.
8. Out-of-allowance charges
8.1 Once an included roaming/international allowance is exhausted, service may stop, require an add-on or incur the stated rates. We will not use undisclosed roaming charges or mandatory fees.
9. Roaming alerts/spend protection
9.1 We or the underlying network will provide roaming charge/allowance information and usage alerts where required by applicable law or regulation. Spend controls/financial limits may apply and their operation will be explained.
10. Network selection and coverage
10.1 Your device may select a partner automatically. Manual network selection can sometimes be required. Coverage, technology and service quality are controlled partly by local networks and cannot be guaranteed.
11. Maritime/satellite/non-terrestrial networks
11.1 Networks on ships, aircraft, satellites or other non-terrestrial systems may not be included in ordinary roaming zones and can be significantly more expensive. Keep automatic network selection/data roaming off where you wish to avoid these charges.
12. Voicemail and received calls
12.1 Voicemail retrieval, call forwarding and incoming calls may be chargeable in some destinations/plans. The applicable price guide controls.
13. International numbers/special services
13.1 Inclusive international minutes normally apply only to specified standard geographic/mobile destinations. Premium, satellite, directory, non-geographic or other special services may be excluded.
14. 5G/Wi-Fi Calling abroad
14.1 5G roaming and Wi-Fi Calling abroad are available only where supported by the tariff, device and underlying/local network. Wi-Fi Calling may be treated for charging purposes as described in the relevant plan/price guide.
15. Permanent roaming
15.1 Personal UK plans are intended principally for customers with a stable link to the UK and not for permanent use abroad unless the tariff expressly permits it. Any residency/presence or fair-use rule will be objective and disclosed.
16. Fraud/security
16.1 Tell us immediately about lost/stolen devices or unexpected roaming. We may restrict unusual usage where reasonably necessary to prevent fraud or protect you/network integrity, subject to applicable law.
17. Changes
17.1 We may change roaming/international rates or destination arrangements for future out-of-bundle usage where the Contract permits and after any required notice. If a change to your existing Contract triggers an Ofcom right to leave, we will tell you and allow penalty-free termination as required.
18. Faults and service problems
18.1 Roaming depends on local partner networks and may not be available everywhere. Report problems promptly. We will provide any remedy or compensation required by your Contract, applicable law or Ofcom rules.
19. Our responsibility to you
19.1 Nothing excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach or failure to use reasonable care and skill, subject to applicable consumer law.
20. Privacy and communications data
20.1 We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Notice. Roaming necessarily involves sharing relevant subscriber, location and traffic information with underlying and overseas partner networks as permitted/required to provide and bill the service, subject to applicable data-protection and PECR requirements.
21. Complaints and ADR
21.1 Complaints can be made under our Customer Complaints Code using 03333 445 456, support@talk-4.co.uk or the postal address stated above. Eligible unresolved complaints may be referred to our Ofcom-approved ADR provider as described in that Code.
22. General
22.1 These Roaming & International Terms supplement the terms for your underlying Talk4 service. If part is invalid or unenforceable, the remainder continues. Governing law and jurisdiction follow the Consumer General Terms and mandatory consumer law.
