Calling Line Identification & Scam Call Protection Code

1. Calling Line Identification

Where technically feasible and economically viable, Talk4 will support Calling Line Identification facilities in accordance with Ofcom’s General Conditions. Where Talk4 controls or supplies CLI data, the presented number should be valid and diallable and should enable the calling party to be identified, subject to lawful privacy/withholding facilities.

2. Customer-configured CLI

Business voice customers must not configure or request presentation of a number they are not entitled to use, or use CLI in a misleading, fraudulent or impersonating way. Talk4 may require evidence of the right to use a presented number.

3. Spoofing and scam-call controls

Talk4 and underlying carriers may block, reject or investigate calls where required or permitted by Ofcom guidance, law or proportionate anti-fraud measures, including calls presenting invalid, non-diallable or spoofed numbers. Such measures may occasionally affect legitimate calls and will be reviewed where a customer reports a problem.

4. Privacy

Customers may have options to withhold CLI for particular calls or lines, subject to technical capability and legal exceptions. Emergency organisations and other legally authorised recipients may receive caller information even where ordinary presentation is withheld.

5. Changes to guidance

Ofcom published revised CLI guidance on 15 July 2026 with changes applying from 15 July 2027. Talk4 will review this Code and relevant network arrangements before those requirements take effect.
