Roaming, International & Bill Limits Code
1. Roaming information
Talk4 will make the roaming destinations, included allowances, fair-use limits, validity and out-of-allowance charges for the relevant tariff available before purchase. “EU roaming” or “global roaming” must not be used as a substitute for the actual destination list and limits.
2. Roaming notifications
Where Ofcom roaming rules require it, customers will receive notifications when roaming with relevant pricing/allowance information and information about available spend-control measures. Notifications may be supplied by Talk4 and/or the underlying network as part of the Talk4 service.
3. Bill limits
Customers entitled to a statutory mobile bill limit will be offered the opportunity to set one. Talk4 will support reasonable requests to specify, change or remove a limit and provide the required notifications when the limit is likely to be reached or has been reached. A limit may not cover the entire third-party service charge for some premium-rate services, but the provider access element is covered where the legislation requires.
4. International calls are different from roaming
Calling another country from the UK is an international call. Using a Talk4 mobile service while outside the UK is roaming. Included destinations and prices can differ, and the website/price guide must distinguish the two.
5. Inadvertent, maritime and satellite roaming
Near borders, on ferries, aircraft or at sea, a device may connect to a non-terrestrial or unintended network with different charges. Talk4 will provide applicable warnings/information required by regulation and recommends checking the network name and device roaming settings.
6. Travel eSIM
Travel eSIM products have their own destination, data and validity rules. They must not be described as “global” unless the published destination list supports that description. Activation and expiry rules must be shown before purchase.
