Switching & Number Porting Code
1. General principles
Talk4 will not create unreasonable barriers to switching. We will provide required switching information, cooperate with gaining/losing provider processes, protect against unauthorised switching and apply required compensation/remedies where a regulated switch or port is mishandled.
2. Mobile switching
Request | Standard route |
|---|---|
Keep your mobile number | Request a PAC; for a single number, text PAC to 65075 where the regulated Auto-Switch process applies. |
Leave without keeping the number | Request a STAC; for a single number, text STAC to 75075 where applicable. |
Check switching information | Text INFO to 85075 where applicable. |
Number ports should normally complete within the regulated timeframe once the valid porting process is initiated. Customers can generally request to port an eligible number for at least one month after termination. Talk4 will not directly charge the customer merely for porting a number where Ofcom prohibits that charge.
3. Broadband and landline switching
For residential fixed broadband/landline switches within scope, Talk4 will use One Touch Switch as required. The gaining provider normally manages the switch. Talk4 will provide required information about affected services, early termination charges and other consequences.
4. Business switching
Business customers benefit from relevant General Condition C7 protections, including requirements around timing, continuity, consent, information and compensation where applicable. Different processes may apply to complex managed, leased-line or multi-site services outside the standard retail switching process.
5. No double notice-period charging
Where Ofcom rules prohibit notice-period charges continuing after a regulated switch, Talk4 will not impose them. Properly calculated Early Termination Charges for leaving within a Minimum Term are separate and will be disclosed where applicable.
Regulatory references
This code has been drafted by reference to current UK regulatory materials. These references do not replace the legislation or Ofcom conditions.

• Ofcom mobile Auto-Switch/PAC/STAC guidance and One Touch Switch requirements for in-scope residential fixed broadband/landline switching.
